About us

At Anglicare Southern Queensland, we believe everyone has a story. With a 150-year heritage, we exist for individuals of all life stages who may be experiencing challenges or entering a new phase of life. Our skilled staff deliver a breadth of care-based services across a vast geographic footprint, and in many types of locations.

Our Children, Youth and Families team is dedicated to ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment. We work closely with Foster and Kinship Carers, families, and community partners to help children in out-of-home care thrive.

About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Case Worker (MPIP) to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis at 38 hours per fortnight, supporting clients across the Townsville region.

The Case Worker (MPIP) plays a critical role in providing evidence-based case management under the Management of Public Intoxication Program (MPIP). You will conduct assessments, develop and review care plans, and coordinate interventions for clients with complex needs, working in partnership with colleagues, clients, carers, and external agencies to promote safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced practitioners with a strong background in case management, public intoxication, homelessness, mental health, or drug and alcohol support services, who are passionate about supporting vulnerable clients in the community.

Responsibilities

* Conduct thorough client assessments, documenting current status and care needs in accordance with Anglicare policies and procedures.
* Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans, ensuring services meet client needs safely and effectively.
* Liaise with Case Coordination Groups and external agencies to ensure collaborative and integrated service delivery.
* Provide support and guidance to clients and carers, respecting client rights, confidentiality, and dignity.
* Maintain accurate client records and use organisational IT systems proficiently.
* Participate in professional development, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Build and maintain professional networks to ensure access to appropriate services and resources for clients.
* Act in accordance with workplace health and safety standards and Anglicare's Code of Conduct.

Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements

* Tertiary qualification in Human Services or equivalent, or comparable industry experience in Public Intoxication, Drug and Alcohol, Homelessness, Mental Health, or Case Management.
* Current National Police Certificate.
* Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
* Current Drivers Licence
* Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
* Immunisation against Tetanus, Hepatitis A and/or Hepatitis B.

About You

* Demonstrated high-level knowledge and skill in case management and care coordination for clients with complex needs.
* Experience in assertive outreach, intervention services, and collaborative, multidisciplinary team work.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clients, carers, and community partners.
* Ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities effectively.
* Knowledge of quality management systems, legislative and workplace health and safety requirements.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and contemporary practice standards.
