Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Operator (Bobcat) to join our Parks & Reserves team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the presentation and maintenance of our city’s parks, gardens, reserves and open spaces, helping to enhance the liveability of our community.
* Remuneration of $2,463.50 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $2,956.20 gross per fortnight + superannuation (12%);

Your new role:
As part of the Open Space team, you will play a key role in maintaining Council’s public spaces by:
* Operating and maintaining plant and equipment, including skid steer loaders and MR trucks.
* Undertaking a range of horticultural and landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, pruning, irrigation and garden maintenance.
* Supporting infrastructure works including concreting, paving, fencing and site rehabilitation.
* Applying chemicals safely for weed, pest and disease control.
* Assisting with traffic and pedestrian management and maintaining safe work sites.
* Completing relevant documentation and adhering to Council standards and procedures.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong commitment to safety, teamwork and delivering high-quality outcomes for the community.
What you will need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* National Certificate of Competency – Skid Steer Loader (LS).
* MR Driver’s Licence.
* Excavator Operator Licence (Desirable).
* Construction Induction (White Card).
* Traffic Control qualifications (Traffic Controller & Implement Traffic Control).
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role operating plant and maintaining open spaces.
* Strong teamwork, communication and time management skills.
* A commitment to Work Health and Safety and risk management practices.
In accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation, the successful applicant is required to be vaccinated for Hepatitis B and will be asked to provide evidence of this.
