The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team to support critical Modernisation and uplifting of Electronic Warfare capability that protect national security. This role is essential for incorporating, integrating, and sustaining developmental environments and software tools, optimizing processes, automating tasks, and streamlining configuration management.

Responsibilities

* Incorporate, integrate and sustain suitable developmental environment and software tools and packages based on existing core functions developed by external Defence units/agencies.
* Integrate and sustain/standardise process optimisation developed by SMEs
* Automate manual data entry tasks and other processes through machine-to-machine data transfer and software automation.
* Streamline configuration management and artifact storage for existing product and process APIs.
* Develop and maintain infrastructure to support seamless integration and communication between systems.
* Ensure continuous monitoring, maintenance, and performance optimization of the development and operational environments.
* Design and support secure, automated, and scalable software delivery pipelines aligned with best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve delivery speed while reducing operational and security risk.
* Analyse, design and implement automation strategies, including tool selection.
* Install and configure CI/CD toolchain and ancillary tools in the ecosystem that enables secure software development and built in quality.
* Create exceptional documentation of standard operating procedures, root cause analysis documents.
* Write and maintain scripts for automation, integration, and tool development to optimize workflows.
* Code Architecture: Collaborate with software engineers to design robust, scalable, and secure code architecture for various applications.
* Implement and automate unit testing to ensure individual components function correctly. Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) by setting up environments, automating test deployments, and ensuring necessary tools and frameworks are in place.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in STEM is desirable
* Minimum 5 years' experience in supporting software development and operations is essential
* Proven experience in integrating and sustaining developmental environments and software tools.
* Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, Infrastructure & Containers (integration APIs, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git, Docker, Kubernetes etc)
* Strong Dev & Scripting and automation Skills
* Advanced knowledge in Linux and Windows is essential.
* Previous exposure to Defence Systems Engineering processes and tools desirable.
* Experience in a Defence related industry is desirable.
* AGSVA security clearance – NV 1 (minimum – with ability to obtain NV2 is required)

Location: RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA (on site 5 days a week dependent on network access and role requirements)
