We are seeking a National Head of HR to oversee a large geographically-dispersed team managing strategic & operational HR activities on a 15-month contract, based in Perth, WA, Australia.
**Duties**:
- Manage a large geographically dispersed HR team and oversee a workforce of between 4,500 - 5,500 employees.
- Build a comprehensive HR strategy in line with local & global regulations.
- Standardise policies and implement new ideas.
- Oversee organisational development and change management.
- Talent acquisition, recruitment, and retention.
- Workforce management (succession planning, training, leadership development).
- Performance management.
- Manage employee and industrial relations.
- Compensation & perks.
- Union relationship-management.
- Promote a positive and empowered workplace culture.
- Develop and execute programs and lead projects that encourage employee engagement.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Hold a Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
- 10+ years management experience in a management position with a variety of experience in different HR fields.
- Experience managing a similar size workforce.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Not afraid to make unpopular decisions and provide advice that is in the best interest for the business, even if it challenges executives.
- Well-versed with HR related law and related legislation.
