The opportunity
A well-established, member-focused organisation is seeking a communications all-rounder to work closely with officials and organisers to strengthen member engagement and advance key campaigns.
This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working across media, digital and campaign communications.
You will play a key role in shaping messaging, producing content and supporting campaigns that directly impact working conditions for members across Queensland.
Key responsibilities
Assist with managing media enquiries, including drafting media releases and sourcing accurate information
Manage and create content for social media channels, including basic graphic and video content
Produce flyers and materials for workplace and campaign use
Maintain and update website content to ensure relevance and accuracy
Support the development and delivery of communications and campaign plans
Work closely with officials and organisers on a range of projects
Attend events, with some regional or interstate travel as required
About you
Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging content for web, social media and media
Experience managing organisational social media accounts
Experience contributing to communications or campaigning activity in a member-focused environment
Confidence advising on messaging in complex or fast-moving situations
Basic design capability
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond to emerging issues
Alignment with trade union values is essential

Location: Brisbane
Hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading.
This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
