We're looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager who thrives in engineering‐led manufacturing environments and knows how to turn complex client requirements into strong, profitable long‐term relationships.
About You
As a Technical Account Manager, you'll take ownership of key customer relationships, acting as the primary commercial and technical liaison from initial engagement through to ongoing production.
You'll work closely with engineering, production, quality and procurement teams to support existing products, New Product Introductions (NPI), manage account performance and ensure clients receive practical, reliable and high‐quality solutions.
This is a hands‐on role with influence, you'll help shape customer outcomes, internal workflows and future growth opportunities.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Customer and Account Leadership
Build trusted, long‐term relationships with key customers
Act as the main point of contact across commercial and technical matters
Lead and engage in regular client meetings, reviews and performance discussions
Translate client needs into clear internal requirements
Grow and Strengthen Customer Partnerships
Own and develop key customer accounts, acting as a trusted commercial and technical partner
Build long‐term, value‐based relationships through regular engagement, reviews and collaboration
Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and convert them into sustainable revenue
Drive Commercial Performance
Achieve sales and margin targets across your portfolio
Manage forecasts, pipelines and reporting using CRM tools
Contribute to account strategies and sales planning
Lead Technical and Manufacturing Engagement
Be the primary client interface, guiding projects from concept through to production
Translate client requirements into clear internal briefs for engineering, production and quality teams
Support clients with technical and procedural guidance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle
Quality and Delivery Excellence
Coordinate client POs with material ordering and production schedules
Proactively manage issues and resolve concerns with a solutions‐focused mindset
Ensure alignment with quality systems, compliance and client expectations
Cross‐Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with production, engineering and purchasing teams
Share client and market insights to support continuous improvement
Contribute to internal initiatives that improve customer experience and efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business/Commerce or a related discipline and/or a minimum of 3 years demonstrated industry experience.
Experience in electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing or regulated industries will be highly regarded
Proven experience in Account Management or Sales within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong combination of commercial acumen and technical understanding
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering concepts or technical products
Experience supporting customers through complex product lifecycles
Strong ability to communicate confidently with Engineers, operations teams and senior client stakeholders
A proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Confidence managing multiple priorities in a fast‐paced, production‐driven environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills who can bridge technical and non‐technical conversations
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
Excellent project management and organisational skills
