Overview
Our client is a growing real estate fund manager with a diversified portfolio across development and investment strategies. With continued growth in assets under management, they are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function and partner closely with senior management.
This is a broad, hands-on leadership role overseeing financial control, fund and development accounting, FP&A and tax, while managing a small, high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CFO your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and mentoring a small finance team across fund and corporate accounting
* Full financial control across the group, including month-end, statutory reporting and audits
* Financial planning & analysis, including budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
* Oversight of fund accounting, investor reporting and unit pricing
* Development accounting, including project cost tracking, feasibility analysis and reporting
* Management of tax compliance (income tax, GST, BAS, distributions), working with external advisors
* Oversight of AP / AR, cashflow management and banking relationships
* Continuous improvement of systems, processes and controls as the business scales
* Acting as a key finance business partner to investment, asset management and development teams
About You
You will be a commercially minded finance leader with strong technical foundations and experience in real estate.
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
* Background in real estate or real estate funds
* Strong knowledge of fund accounting and development accounting
* Experience managing and developing a small finance team
* Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a growing organisation
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
