Tasmanian Irrigation is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania.
We own and operate 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure.
Our promise to our irrigator customers is to provide reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.
We oversee development of irrigation schemes, funded through a public / private partnership model.
Tasmanian Irrigation oversees 26,000 individual infrastructure assets with a replacement value of approximately $500 million and has the capacity to deliver more than 151,000 megalitres of irrigation water each year.
About the Role
You will play a key role in shaping a values-led culture at Tasmanian Irrigation. You will lead the People & Culture function, design and deliver people strategies that are scalable and future-fit and provide expert advice to senior leaders on workforce planning, organisational design, employee wellbeing and relations.
You will oversee all aspects of the people function including recruitment, onboarding, development, performance, wellbeing, industrial relations, compliance and employee engagement.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will mentor a small team, manage external service providers, and drive continuous improvement in systems and practices.
Requirements
1. A degree or substantial experience in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience leading contemporary P&C functions.
3. Proven ability to influence and advise senior leaders through complex change and cultural development.
4. A strong grasp of employment legislation and employee relations, ideally within government-owned or infrastructure-related sectors.
5. Experience designing scalable frameworks for onboarding, performance, development, and workforce planning.
6. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
