Job Description
Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Building Engineering team, based in Melbourne.
How you’ll make a difference
* Act as a senior technical resource, providing advice on key building components such as stability design, basements, structural steel framing, connections, and economic post‑tensioned concrete floors.
* Advise and liaise with clients, architects and builders throughout design and construction phases of major projects.
* Manage and develop design and delivery procedures to facilitate high‑quality, cost‑effective work by team members.
* Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings and prepare technical specification sections.
* Participate in interdisciplinary reviews, providing input to engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Engineering with ideally 10+ years of experience delivering complex structural projects across diverse market sectors in Australia/New Zealand.
* Prior experience or interest in mass timber designs is preferred.
* Track record of autonomously providing specialised structural technical input at both conceptual and detailed design stages.
* Experience with advanced digital workflows; proficient in ETABS, RAM Concept, RAPT, and SpaceGASS.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
