Additional Job Posting Details Your Role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital You will perform housekeeping duties within the unit, or the wider hospital as required and ensure that the environment and surfaces are free of microbes and not a source of infection to patients and caregivers. Applications will be considered for positions as they become available over the next six months. The Position Performs housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, including ward cleaning, bed making and disposal of waste items. Assists nursing staff with transfers of patients belongings to different areas of the hospital when requested. Directed assistance with lifting and patient transportation. Acts as a courier when requested. Assists with safe and tidy storage of supplies within the unit. Cost effective use of stock supplies and equipment. Escorts patients to discharge office when requested. Reports any maintenance / supply needs as necessary. You will have an understanding of occupational safety and health practices, infection control and housekeeping protocols, whilst maintaining a high level of cleaning skills. To succeed you will basic knowledge of and experience with chemical usage, cleaning equipment and OH&S requirements. You will demonstrate communication skills, relate well with other people and demonstrate initiative, motivation & confidence.
