Great opportunity to join our Gladstone team as a Casual Coal Technician!
In this hands‐on role, you will support the laboratory with a range of coal testing and sample preparation activities, including:
* Accurately performing routine physical coal testing and analysis
* Ensuring precision, traceability, and quality of prepared samples
* Receipting, recording, sorting, and storing coal samples
* Supporting preventative maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment
* Assisting with shift planning, workflow coordination, and sample logistics
* Working in line with analytical methods, procedures, and Quality Systems
* Maintaining a safe and compliant working environment
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, semi‐manual work in an industrial or laboratory setting. Full training and on‐the‐job support will be provided.
Qualifications
About you:
* Previous coal sampling, preparation, or testing experience is desirable but not essential
* Experience in a mineral laboratory or similar environment is an advantage
* Basic computer skills (Excel knowledge beneficial; G6 experience a plus but not required)
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‐paced environment
* Available to work casual day and afternoon shifts
