Lead the transformation of a Payroll System managing multi-award configurations, system implementation and go-live readiness
The Opportunity
Our client, a leading organisation, is undertaking a payroll system transformation and is seeking a Payroll & Systems Consultant to lead the rollout of their new back-office payroll system. This is a hands-on role for someone with deep payroll expertise combined with Finance, HRIS, or system implementation experience.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract best suited to someone who can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the configuration and implementation of the new payroll system.
* Configure agreements, awards, and award interpretation across the business.
* Collaborate with payroll SMEs, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate and efficient system setup.
* Manage user testing, identify and resolve issues, and support the transition from legacy systems.
* Deliver training and guidance to payroll staff to ensure readiness for go-live.
* Support dual pay-run testing and troubleshoot issues with vendor collaboration as needed.
* Prepare production system configurations in consultation with payroll SMEs for go-live.
About You:
* Experience in payroll operations and complex system implementations.
* Deep knowledge of payroll legislation, agreements, and multi-award interpretation, ideally in a complex environment.
* Proven ability to lead projects, including UAT, training, and change management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to bridge payroll, Finance, and IT teams.
* Confident, self-driven, and able to operate at a senior level in a high-impact, fast-moving project environment.
