JOB TITLE: APPRENTICE CHEF - All Levels

FUNCTION:
An apprentice chef is an entry-level kitchen qualified undergoing structured training, both practical and theoretical, to become a qualified chef.

Working under the supervision of experienced chefs, you'll typically study a formal Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification while gaining hands-on experience in a real kitchen environment.

Key Accountabilities:

- Anticipate and attend to the guest's needs and desires immediately.

- Attend required culinary courses.

- Work in the kitchen as directed on a daily basis.

- Ensure that your work is carried out in a timely and efficient fashion.

- Attend and be responsible for all training provided by the Chefs.

- Minimize wastage at all times.

- Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.

- Follow established standard operating procedures.

- Help produce an environment of learning and professionalism.

- Carry out any other related duties as directed by senior kitchen staff.

- Maintain personal appearance according to the hotel's grooming standards.

- Maintain harmonious relationships with other team members.

- Maintain acceptable knowledge regarding food products.

- Comply with all hotel operational policies & procedures.

- Practice all hotel occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S;).

- Perform any other duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
