About the Role
The ABC is looking for an election researcher to work closely with the Chief Elections and Data Analyst. This role involves supporting the creation of timely, trusted election content across ABC platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining and updating election databases, including information on electorates, candidates, MPs, and results.
* Supporting the creation and fact-checking of election guides, research materials, and digital content.
* Assisting with managing ABC's election websites and ensuring timely, accurate updates.
* Researching electoral trends and political developments to help inform editorial coverage.
* Working with the Chief Elections and Data Analyst preparing for election night broadcasts and related events.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Strong interest in Australian politics and elections at all levels.
* Skilled in interpreting and summarising complex political information.
* Familiarity with programming languages including SQL, R, and/or Python is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
* Familiar with digital content systems and website updates.
Benefits
This is a fixed-term full-time contract for 12 months. You'll receive a base salary of $92K - $99K plus 15.4% ABC nominated superannuation.
