About the Role
We have various clients in the resources sector seeking competent Maintenance Engineers to provide technical expertise and leadership for their maintenance operations. Our clients are tier one resource sector companies that value engineering excellence and proven expertise in maintenance engineering that delivers measurable improvements in asset reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational performance.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to maintenance teams, developing maintenance strategies, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, managing engineering projects, and implementing improvements that enhance equipment performance and reduce lifecycle costs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership and engineering support to maintenance and operations teams
* Develop and optimize maintenance strategies for critical equipment and systems
* Conduct failure investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
* Review and approve maintenance procedures, work instructions, and technical specifications
* Manage maintenance improvement projects from concept through to implementation
* Evaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications or upgrades
* Liaise with OEMs, vendors, and contractors on technical matters and equipment support
* Develop equipment maintenance standards, specifications, and technical documentation
* Participate in asset lifecycle management, including selection, commissioning, and decommissioning
* Mentor and develop technical capabilities within maintenance teams
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Who We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments
* Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline) with strong technical background
* Demonstrated expertise in maintenance engineering principles, practices, and methodologies
* Strong problem-solving skills with experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting
* Knowledge of maintenance strategies including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance
* Proficiency with engineering software, CMMS systems, and technical documentation tools
* Experience with project management and implementation of engineering improvements
* Excellent technical communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
* Understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements
* Valid Australian work rights or eligibility to obtain them
* Candidates who can demonstrate immediate capability and work-ready expertise
