Claremont is the largest Cadbury factory in Australia and Southern Hemisphere. Recently celebrating 100 years in production, the site delivers 200 million blocks, and 50,000 tonnes of chocolate annually, including other iconic products like Cadbury Freddo, Twirl and Caramello Koalas.
We have an exciting opportunity for a specialist to join our team as Injury Management Co-ordinator (IMC), where you are responsible for injury management and return-to-work programs across Site. Operating in State jurisdictions, the role ensures the injury management and return work processes following a work-related injury meets the employer obligations as mandated by WorkSafe Tasmania.
This opportunity will also allow support for the site Health, Safety and Environment team.
How you will contribute
You will:
* Manages the end-to-end injury management and the recovery at work process of employees.
* Manages a case load of injured employees across the Tasmanian sites
* Actively participates in audit requirements (internal and external) to meet the compliance requirements
* Promote the early intervention program across the sites
* Build relationships with internal stakeholders and coaches Supervisors in the injury management and return to work processes
* Communicate with the insurer case manager on all aspects of employee recovery at work
* Manage the early intervention provider relationship and review performance
* Manage the local preferred medical clinic relationships to service injury management of our people
* Assist with processing of site invoices and other claim related expenses
* Develops, maintains and updates Tas worker injury kits
Injury and Return to Work Management
* Undertake return to work planning as soon as an injury is reported
* Co-ordinate return to work process by liaising with injured employee, supervisor, treating medical and health professionals
* Prepare, monitor and review Recover at Work Plans
* Identify suitable duties where reasonable and practicable
* Coach leaders to ensure compliance is maintained with the policies, procedures, and legislation
* Undertake regular claims reviews to ensure goals and strategies for each claim
* Maintain confidential records in line with privacy principles
* Maintain the injury management system and ensure all documentation meets the criteria required (ie. Medical certificates must be valid)
* Manages and addresses performance issues with external providers such as occupational rehabilitation service.
Health, Safety and Environment Support.
* Support the HSE team coordinating and overseeing implementation of Health & Safety programs and processes
* Some understanding of OHS Act, Regulations, and standards is advantageous

* Essential
* Significant experience in injury management and return-to-work co-ordination within a jurisdictional environment across Tasmania or other States.
* Strong working knowledge of Australian workers' compensation legislation across Tasmania
* Demonstrated experience managing a complex caseload of workers' compensation claims from lodgement through to return to work and claim closure
* Proven ability to interpret and apply differing legislative and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions with minimal supervision
* Experience providing strategic advice and insights to senior leaders on injury management performance and compliance
* Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external providers
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret claims data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
* High attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information in accordance with privacy legislation
* Experience working within a safety team with some understanding of OHS Act, Regulations, and standards is advantageous

* Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or Return to Work Co-ordination
* Experience working within both self-insured and non-self-insured workers' compensation environments
* Experience with early intervention programs and injury prevention strategies
* Familiarity with injury management and claims systems (e.g., Solv)
* Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or multi-site operational environments
* Experience in program design, continuous improvement, or project delivery within a safety or injury management context

* Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Rehabilitation, Allied Health, or a related discipline
* To be appointed to the role of an IMC, you must have undertaken a course of training approved by the WorkCover Tasmania Board
* As of 1 March 2021, the approved course of training is a Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management (FNS42120) or a Diploma of Personal Injury and Disability Insurance Management (FNS51920)
