Job Description
As a Senior Tax Advisor with a Research focus, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality tax research and advisory services to a diverse client base from SMEs to large, multinational corporations and family groups. Our clients require advice on complex tax issues including Small Business CGT Concessions, FBT, GST, Trust matters, Residency, Transfer Pricing, Thin Capitalisation, and Withholding Tax.
You will be working in a team environment with other highly skilled professionals to provide expert advice on complex tax matters, supporting the growth of the team.
Your will:
* Researchcomplex tax matters.
* Providing advice to other advisory team members.
* Writing taxation advice letters for clients and memorandums for the compliance teams.
* Meeting with clients to present taxation advice.
* Preparepresentations and papers for the firm for training purposes.
* Undertake thorough research and interpretation of Australian tax law and international tax law issues for different entity structures, including, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
* Analyse complex transactions to identify key tax issues to be addressed.
* Translate research into answers on complex tax issues, including recommendations on solutions to proposed transactions, restructures, and tax planning matters.
* Provide high-quality, professional oral and written taxation advice to colleagues and clients, clearly explaining complex tax issues and providing tailored recommendations to clients.
* Prepare training papers and presentations for internal training.
Desired Skills and Experience
You have:
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Accounting/Finance/Law or similar (essential).
* Ideally 5+ years' experience in Public Practice, with a strong background in tax advisory and/or compliance.
* Advanced knowledge of Australian tax law, including, corporate, partnership, trust, and high-net-worth individual tax matters.
* Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex transactions and legislation.
* Demonstrated ability to translate complex tax issues into clear, client-friendly advice.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.
