Port Augusta West Childhood Service Centre is situated on the West Side of Port Augusta providing high quality teaching and learning to children from ages 3 to 5. We are seeking a 0.6 FTE Inclusive Preschool Program Teacher to join our amazing team.
This position involves working within the Inclusive Preschool Program supporting a maximum of 6 children with high level and complex needs. Knowledge of and/or experience in supporting children with additional needs (including experience in working with Augmented Communication Systems such as Boardmaker, PODDs and other supportive resources) is critical to the position. Experience in working with Autistic children is desirable but not essential.
The candidate will be required to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, having effective communication skills, showing initiative, professionalism, organisation, and commitment. The position also requires the establishment and maintenance of positive working relationships with families and the wider community.
Preferably an applicant would have sound knowledge of IT, the Early Years Learning Framework, Numeracy and Literacy Indicators as well as experience using the Reflect, Respect, Relate document.
