Job Summary
The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will report to the Team Lead, Master Scheduling and ensure that the integrated master schedule is maintained for the Program.
You will work with the functional departments to analyze forecast vs baseline variances and perform what-if scenarios as required.
This role also ensures schedules are updated and they produce management reports as required.
Responsibilities
* Development and Maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS): The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will develop and maintain the IMS based on professional standards such as Project Management Institute (PMI) and Planning & Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG).
* Analyze the IMS and Develop What-If Scenarios: You will analyze the IMS and develop what-if scenarios for in-progress activities and new scenarios.
* Critical Path Analysis: This role involves performing critical path analysis to identify dependencies and constraints in the project schedule.
* Integrate Sub-Schedules into IMS: You will integrate sub-schedules into the IMS using Primavera/Aveva.
* Schedule Development, Critical Path, and What-If Analysis: The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will develop schedules, perform critical path analysis, and conduct what-if analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities.
* Progress Recorded and Issued to Stakeholders: You will record progress and issue it to stakeholders.
* Support Progress Reports Based on Earned Value Techniques: This role involves supporting the development of progress reports based on earned value techniques.
* Resource Loading and Leveling: You will load and level resources to ensure that the project schedule is realistic and achievable.
* Maintain Multi-Project Schedule Dependencies: The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will maintain multi-project schedule dependencies to ensure that all projects are aligned and coordinated.
* Maintain the Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRL): You will maintain the SDRL to ensure that all subcontractors have the necessary data and information to perform their work.
* Maintain the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS), Resource Breakdown Structure (RBS), and Control Account Structure: This role involves maintaining the WBS, OBS, RBS, and control account structure to ensure that the project schedule is well-defined and organized.
* Maintain Communication with Functional Departments: You will maintain communication with functional departments throughout the engineering and build phases of the project to ensure budget and schedule alignment with the baseline.
* Consult with Project Managers and Technical Experts: The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will consult with project managers and technical experts to review activities and ensure that the project schedule is accurate and up-to-date.
* Implement an Effective Scheduling Management System: This role involves implementing and maintaining an effective scheduling management system to ensure that all stakeholders have access to the latest information and can make informed decisions.
* Coordinate Project Timelines with Internal Departments and External Stakeholders: You will coordinate project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure that all parties are aware of the project schedule and any changes that may affect them.
* Update Schedule to Ensure Project Progress Reports Are Created as Required: The Scheduler, Master Scheduling will update the schedule to ensure that project progress reports are created as required.
* Incorporate Baseline Change Requests Implement Project Scheduling Processes: This role involves incorporating baseline change requests and implementing project scheduling processes to ensure that the project schedule is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications
* A recognized diploma in a technical discipline (engineering, engineering technology, or similar) or equivalent industry experience.
* At least 2-5 years of scheduling experience.
* At least 2+ years of scheduling experience in complex projects in a shipyard environment or demonstrated and proven experience within their current role.
* Experience with Primavera Version 6 is required.
* PMI certification and/or PMP is an asset.
* Primavera P6 Professional Fundamentals Certificate is an asset.
* Applying earned value management techniques.
* Working with multiple project integration.
* Familiarity with schedule risk analysis using Monte-Carlo method is considered an asset.
* Skilled knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work within integrated teams but also confident to work unsupervised.
