About The Roles
We're on the lookout for
Trainee Construction Materials Testing Technicians
to join our Petrie Laboratory team. This hands-on role involves working both in our Petrie lab and at local quarries, carrying out aggregate testing. You'll start with full training at our Brendale Laboratory before moving into day-to-day operations at Petrie. Regular travel to other quarries will be part of your day, so you'll need to be comfortable driving between sites.
At the quarry, you'll collect and prepare rock and aggregate samples, run tests to measure their strength, size, and durability, and record your findings for client reports. It's a mix of lab work and field work, with plenty of time outdoors and on your feet.

Start time: Generally 6am or 7am, 37.5 hr week + overtime
Trainee Wages: Competitive base pay plus overtime, with rates above the industry award.

What We're Looking For:
Drivers Licence (Must have)
Ideal for early-career individuals, though open to all ages
Team players with a strong work ethic
Desire for repetitive tasks
Comfortable with physical, hands-on work and standing for extended periods
Punctual and reliable - early starts are key
Strong attention to detail when recording test results
Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures
Good communication skills and basic computer literacy
Australian / NZ Citizen or Permanent resident
