This position supports the database platforms that underpin NGM Groups core / critical systems and delivers high quality IT services to internal and external customers. This role will manage a range of Database Platforms, Job Scheduling and Data Integration systems to the required business standards for system Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability and Compliance. What will your key responsibilities include?
* Provide support and technical expertise to stakeholders, assisting with problem-solving, inquiries, and database design.
* Contribute to the design and management of database architecture to ensure secure access, availability, and alignment with business needs.
* Ensure smooth operation of database systems by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and delivering timely resolutions.
* Review and optimise database queries, stored procedures, and scripts to maintain optimal performance for key applications.
* Monitor database environments proactively to identify and address potential performance or stability issues.
* Develop, maintain, and support end-to-end ETL processes in a production environment.
* Modify database structures to meet the evolving needs of developers, stakeholders, and business volumes.
* Maintain production databases through regular maintenance, upgrades, security updates, and SQL Server patching.
What are we looking for?

* 3–5 years' experience as an Oracle or SQL Database Administrator (or similar).
* Strong understanding of database structures, interfaces, and layered products.
* Exposure to ETL, batch management, or job scheduling tools.
* Familiarity with Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, or cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
* Experience in IT service delivery frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and project environments.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Financial services or always-on IT environment experience is a plus.
* Degree, postgraduate, diploma or higher education qualifications in a relevant IT field desirable
