Description
The Operations Manager leads the development and execution of the integrated operations plan for the ANZ region, working closely with Commercial teams and Global Operations. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of logistics, customer service, and planning teams, serve as the primary liaison with government bodies and other external organizations, upholding full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Operations Planning & Materials Management
* Partner with manufacturing and commercial teams on new product launches and phase-outs to ensure smooth transitions.
* Collaborate with commercial and corporate Materials Management teams on inventory policies, demand forecasting, and KPIs.
* Monitor forecast accuracy and align with Product Marketing on promotions, seasonality, and new launches.
* Balance product availability and inventory turn goals to achieve optimal service levels.
* Identify and address potential inventory issues through promotions, returns, or scrap management.
Inventory Management & Customer Fulfillment
* Manage branch inventory and stocking strategies in line with established policies.
* Configure and maintain planning parameters in Oracle, GAINS, and MEO; oversee forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
* Advise distributors on stock policies and backorder procedures.
* Ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
* Qualify and monitor external vendors, ensuring part quality and availability.
* Expedite and process customer orders with optimal fulfillment methods.
* Develop and maintain core customer fulfillment processes.
Warehouse & 3PL Management
* Manage third-party logistics providers to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective services.
* Act as liaison between warehouse, sales, distributors, and headquarters.
* Review and address cost-of-quality issues (e.g., mis-shipments, damage, warranty) with corporate and regional teams.
* Develop, distribute, and analyze service-level reports against targets.
Region/Country Leadership
* Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, labor regulations, tax laws, and government requirements.
* Secure necessary government approvals in coordination with Legal.
* Manage facility contracts and coordinate asset purchases with consulting companies.
* Serve as point of contact for communications with relevant ministries.
Team Leadership & Financial Management
* Lead, mentor, and manage the Operations team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of excellence.
* Provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities for team members.
* Manage the annual Operations budget, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and efficient resource allocation.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree.
* 7+ years of supply chain/logistics experience, including:
o 3+ years in export/import or international shipping.
o 3+ years in demand/supply planning and inventory management.
o 2+ years in leadership (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of logistics, import/export, and warehousing processes.
* Proficiency in ERP systems.
* Strong analytical and project management skills.
* Customer-oriented, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure.
Accelerators:
* Certification in customs declaration, commodity inspection, or freight forwarding.
* Experience with Oracle, GAINS, and MEO.
* Advanced MS Office skills; knowledge of SAP and WMS.
* PMP certification.
