Industrial Officer
At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Salary from $113,574 to $125,720 (Clerk Grade 7/8) plus superannuation and leave loading
About the role:
The Department of Education (department) is seeking an industrial relations (IR) practitioner to work in a centralised and high-performing IR team within a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities.
As an Industrial Officer, you will:
* Provide timely, accurate advice on industrial instruments and government/department policies.
* Analyse industrial instruments and employment conditions
* Negotiate and draft compliant employment conditions
* Deliver reports on conditions, trends, and industrial action
* Provide advocacy support in disputes at industrial tribunals
* Support team engagement with internal and external stakeholders

Essential requirements of the role
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Industrial Relations, Law, HR and/or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience, including experience in industrial relations and union engagement.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Desirable requirements of the role
* Demonstrated experience in an Industrial Relations role.
* Ability to explain complex IR information to audiences who have limited IR understanding.
* This role may suit a recent Law Graduate.
