Join OurDNA's vibrant Community Engagement team as a Project Officer (Community Relations) and play a vital role in strengthening partnerships with Australia's diverse communities
Working primarily from home with regular visits to either our Sydney Garvan office or Melbourne MCRI office, plus scheduled team meetups, you will help foster two-way dialogue, produce accessible resources, and support community partners in sharing key messages about genomics and health. What you'll do
* Support the implementation and ongoing use of established community communication and relationship frameworks that support long-term engagement with participating communities
* Act as a primary relationship contact for priority community partners, maintaining regular communication and supporting continuity of engagement under the guidance of the Community Engagement & Partnerships Manager
* Draft, update and maintain accessible, culturally appropriate information resources (presentations, one-pagers, briefings and translated materials) in collaboration with relevant teams
* Work closely with colleagues across CPG, including Community Engagement, Recruitment, Education and Communications teams, to ensure consistent messaging and a coordinated delivery of community activities
What you'll bring
* Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, community development, public health, social sciences or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
* Demonstrated experience in community or stakeholder engagement, particularly with multicultural or under-represented communities
* Strong community communication skills, including the ability to develop accessible written and verbal resources and support two-way dialogue
* Experience in facilitation and presentation to diverse audiences
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to cross-cultural communication and inclusive practice
* Familiarity with community engagement and co-design approaches, and the ability to contribute to planning, delivery and evaluation activities
