Building Assessor/Supervisor – North Queensland
We’re a family-owned and run building business with a strong reputation across Queensland, and we’re looking for an experienced building assessor/supervisor to join our growing team in North Queensland.
You'll be the driving force behind quality insurance repairs, managing projects from assessment through to completion. Your leadership and technical expertise will ensure clients and customers receive exceptional service while coordinating teams, budgets and timelines to deliver results that exceed expectations.
The Work
* Conduct on-site and virtual property inspections to assess scope of repairs
* Prepare detailed scopes of work, cost estimates and variation reports
* Manage multiple insurance repair projects simultaneously from kick-off to handover
* Work on government projects alongside residential builds
* Coordinate and brief subcontractors to ensure quality and on-time delivery
* Liaise with clients, insurers and internal teams — keeping everyone informed and on track
* Monitor budgets, forecast costs and flag risks before they become problems
* Ensure all works meet QBCC, safety and quality compliance standards
* Use project management software for documentation, reporting and communication
* Step up during emergency weather or catastrophe events (occasional regional travel)

About You
* Trade background in carpentry, building, or construction (highly regarded)
* Proven experience supervising insurance repairs or residential construction projects
* QBCC Supervisor Licence — or on track to obtain one
* Solid understanding of scoping, estimating and cost management
* Confident communicator — you can handle tough conversations professionally
* Comfortable with technology: project management platforms, email, reporting tools
* Valid Queensland Driver's Licence
* Self-motivated, reliable, and team-first mindset
