The Position This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who brings solid structural expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering sustainable, future‑ready infrastructure.
In this role you will contribute to the design and delivery of transmission line structures and associated infrastructure that support clean‑energy integration and strengthen network resilience.
You will apply your technical knowledge to ensure project designs meet high standards of safety, technical accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while supporting the continued advancement of modern engineering practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles to independently develop system designs that meet project specifications and incorporate RAM principles.
Assist in developing and refining design components, ensuring alignment with overall system requirements using modelling and simulation tools to optimise and validate performance and compliance.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including design drawings, reports, and specifications.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure effective interface management.
Independently solve routine technical problems in design, installation, or operation, ensuring solutions align with project requirements.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance designs or processes, introducing small‑scale innovations.
Adapt workflows and methodologies to address challenges efficiently, improving overall project performance.
Qualification and Capabilities
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Chartered Status (including RPEV, RPEQ, NER & CPEng), or the ability to obtain.
4+ years senior experience in transmission line structural design (220kV+).
Prior experience with Tier 1/Tier 2 contractors or TNSPs is highly regarded.
Advanced in PLS‑CADD and PLS‑Tower, with experience delivering structure designs up to 500kV.
Good understanding of transmission line structures, foundations, loading standards, and relevant Australian and international design codes.
Skilled in developing high‑quality structural reports, calculations, drawings, schedules, and Specifications.
Desired Skills and Experience Experienced Structural Engineer, Min 4 years experience | Tier 1 or 2, PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower, with experience delivering structure designs up to 500kV.
