About the Role

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Ranger to support community safety through customer focused local law enforcement.

Reporting to the Ranger Team Leader, you will become part of a dedicated team striving to deliver the best service in the state, with strong focus on continuous improvement and meeting the expectations of our community and the City's goals.

About you

We're seeking a proactive, community minded professional with strong judgement and communication skills, who can balance education and enforcement to achieve fair and practical outcomes. You'll be confident working independently and as part of a team, comfortable managing challenging situations and committed to delivering high quality customer service while upholding legislation, local laws and the City's values.

Besides demonstrated experience, you'll need to have:

* Completed and obtained a Certificate in Municipal Law Enforcement A & B or Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 & 2, or willingness to obtain
* Ability to interpret and enforce statutes, associated regulations, local laws and policies relevant to Ranger Services
* Proficiency in animal handling
* Advanced problem solving and investigative skills with demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, negotiation and conciliation skills
* Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise competing demands
* Work well within a team environment and committed to ongoing change.

Salary: Starting from Level 4/5 Step 1 – Step 4 ($85,331 to $99,660 per annum) plus penalties. City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025 based on qualification and experience.
