Where you'll be working
Griffith Base Hospital is a 119-bed facility in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District, serving approximately 19,500 emergency presentations annually. It has a 24-hour Emergency Department with 15 spaces, supported by an ICU and telehealth connections to specialists across NSW.
What You'll Be Doing
* A Visiting Medical Officer providing non-procedural GP services and high-level clinical care in the Emergency Department.
* Participating in the on-call roster and responding to calls within reasonable time.
* Involvement in service and policy development, education, training, and quality improvement projects.
* Supporting core NSW public sector values of cultural diversity, equity, ethical practice, and a safe, fair workplace.
Required Skills & Experience
* Current registration: MBBS or equivalent, registered with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Practitioner.
* Minimum three (3) years post-graduate clinical experience; experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or Rural Medicine is an advantage.
* Knowledge of contemporary clinical management of acute and chronic medical conditions and competence in performing minor urgent procedures, including Advanced Life Support and Trauma management.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
* Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Availability to participate in on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable time.
* Commitment to behaviours that align with NSW Health CORE values and MLHD values.
