We’re looking for an experienced Slitter Machine Operator to join our team in Wacol. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Thursday (6:00AM - 2:30PM) and Friday (6:00AM - 12:30PM).
What you'll be doing
As a Slitter Machine Operator, you will be an integral part of our production and distribution operations, helping ensure the slitting line operates efficiently, safely and to quality standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Setting up, operating, adjusting, and troubleshooting slitting line equipment
* Operating cranes and forklifts to safely move steel coils and load/unload trucks
* Completing quality checks, measurements, and required production documentation
* Assisting with general warehousing and housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organised work environment
* Identifying and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues to maintain a safe work environment
* Working collaboratively within a supportive, safety-focused team to meet production targets
What we're looking for
* Previous experience operating slitting machinery or similar production equipment (steel industry experience highly regarded)
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
* Ability to read job sheets, measurements, and follow production specifications
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and safety
* Forklift licence and crane experience (or willingness to obtain training)
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
