This role is full time hours. Must have some weekend availability.
Key responsibilities & duties as follows:
Lead the daily operations of the bakery to produce high-quality products consistently.
Lead daily bakery production with creativity and precision.
Join a forward-thinking, industry-leading Melbourne hospitality group.
You'll optimize production methods, processes, and schedules to ensure maximum efficiency while maintaining a focus on quality.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline production without compromising on standards.
Managing internal and external wholesale production numbers.
Play an active role in shaping the future of our bakery's offerings. You'll be tasked with creating exciting specials, introducing new product lines, and collaborating with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
Managing the scheduling and rostering to ensure adequate coverage, conducting regular performance reviews, and driving continuous improvement through training and progression planning.
Responsible for managing bakery budgets, including wages, inventory and cost of goods sold (COGs).
Work closely with the broader management team to continuously refine strategic goals and bakery operations.
Ensure compliance with all food safety standards, internal policies and procedures, and OH&S regulations.
Requirements:
Proven minimum 3-5 years experience as a Senior or Head Baker in a high-volume bakery or similar food production environment.
A deep understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and processes.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
Time management and organisation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage budgets, inventory, and production schedules.
Passion for innovation in food and the ability to adapt to changing trends.
A commitment to quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
