Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Transmission Line Design Engineer to be based in Adelaide in a permanent role for our client who operates in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.
As a Transmission Line Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality design solutions for transmission lines within the power transmission and distribution industry. You will utilise your expertise to participate in design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations while driving innovation and efficiency in engineering processes.
Responsibilities:
* Partake in transmission line design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
* Conduct detailed engineering analyses and calculations to develop optimal transmission line designs, considering factors such as electrical, structural, and environmental requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional internal and external teams including project managers, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to integrate design solutions seamlessly into overall project plans.
* Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Provide technical expertise and support to junior engineers and drafters, fostering their professional development and growth.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in transmission line design, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into our engineering process.
Required Experience:
* Experience in transmission line design within the power transmission and distribution industry.
* Proficiency in engineering software such as PLS-CADD and/or PLS-POWER.
* Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations governing transmission line design.
* Experience with CYMCAP modelling for single-core, three-core, and triplex underground cables is highly advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil / Structural Engineering, or related field.
