Love working with your hands as much as you do designing in CAD? Passionate about cars and 4WDs? We're looking for a Product Development Engineer to join ARB's highly respected team at our Kilsyth global head office and help bring innovative, vehicle-mounted accessories to life.
This is a full lifecycle role - ideal for an engineer who enjoys getting their hands dirty in the workshop just as much as modelling a concept on screen. From first sketch to final fitment, you'll design and develop new products for some of the toughest vehicles and environments in the world.
Working with a tight-knit, collaborative design team, you'll take on meaningful projects with a direct impact on ARB's global range - whether it's bull bars, underbody protection, carriers, or other vehicle accessories designed for adventure.
What's on offer:
* Competitive base salary + super + leave loading + generous employee product discounts
* Work on iconic products loved by the off-road community
* Professional development, international project exposure, and technical training
* Full design-to-delivery involvement - from concept to production fit-up
* Access to state-of-the-art workshop and testing facilities onsite
* A collaborative, down-to-earth engineering culture where your ideas are valued
Key Responsibilities:
* Turn customer and market needs into clear design briefs
* Design and develop vehicle-specific and general accessories using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (product, manufacturing, quality, marketing)
* Validate and test products through both lab and vehicle-based trials
* Create detailed drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
* Liaise with suppliers and external manufacturing partners to bring designs to life
* Contribute to continuous improvement across design, fitment, and product performance
About you:
* Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in product development - preferably in automotive, off-road, or metal-fabricated products
* Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
* Practical, hands-on mindset - you enjoy prototyping, fitment, and real-world testing
* Understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, surface treatments, and manufacturing methods
* Comfortable working closely with trades, engineers, and suppliers alike
* Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
* A genuine interest in vehicles, 4WDs, or off-road equipment is highly regarded
