Job Description

This role provides essential administrative support to the Waste Operations team and delivers high quality customer service to residents within a specific geographic area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing non-compliance with waste services, investigating and resolving issues related to new services, vacant land charges, and medical waste. They will also conduct site visits to assess and address waste-related concerns, handle complaints, and collaborate with contractors to resolve customer requests and driver feedback.

In addition, the candidate will refer and track customer requests to the appropriate officers for timely action, develop and maintain waste management systems, procedures, and documentation, and update and manage databases. They will also monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements, respond promptly to issues raised through the waste call centre, and prepare reports and analyze data on waste activities and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage non-compliance with garbage, recycling, and garden waste services
* Investigate and resolve issues related to new services, vacant land charges, and medical waste
* Conduct site visits across Council areas to assess and address waste-related concerns
* Handle complaints regarding unsatisfactory service delivery
* Collaborate with contractors to resolve customer requests and driver feedback
* Refer and track customer requests to the appropriate officers for timely action
* Develop and maintain waste management systems, procedures, and documentation
* Update and manage databases, including rates, second services, collection schedules, and strata contacts
* Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements
* Respond promptly to issues raised through the waste call centre
* Prepare reports and analyze data on Waste and Cleansing activities and performance


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent customer service and problem resolution skills, as well as the ability to be adaptable and flexible to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet customer needs.

You will also need to have demonstrated experience in effective time management and the ability to meet multiple deadlines, as well as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and other software applications.

Essential Qualifications:

* Class C driver's License
* Excellent customer service and problem resolution skills
* Ability to be adaptable and flexible
* Demonstrated experience in effective time management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications
