The Opportunity
This is a newly created Financial Accounting Lead role, positioned as the 2IC to a longstanding Functional Manager.
You will play a key role in leading financial accounting and reporting activities including assisting with the delivery of tax and treasury services, while also taking ownership of team leadership responsibilities across junior staff.
The role blends strong technical accounting with people leadership and business engagement, offering exposure to a broad range of financial, reporting and operational matters within a complex environment.
The Role
Key responsibilities and outcomes include:
* Lead day-to-day financial accounting and reporting activities
* Support delivery of accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting
* Partner with the business to understand key drivers and financial performance levers
* Provide technical accounting input across reporting and compliance requirements
* Support audit processes and liaise with external stakeholders as required
* Lead, coach and develop junior team members
* Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, controls and reporting outputs
* Assist with the delivery of tax and treasury services
The Ideal Person
You will be a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment while also leading and developing others.
This role is well suited to a Big 4 or mid-tier trained candidate at Manager or Senior Manager level looking to step into a leadership role in industry.
You will demonstrate:
* Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capability
* Big 4 or mid-tier audit or advisory background (highly regarded)
* Experience working in complex or regulated environments (beneficial)
* A genuine interest in people leadership, mentoring and team development
* Strong attention to detail and a high standard of work ethic
* The ability to engage with stakeholders and understand business drivers
* A team-oriented mindset with strong cultural alignment
Exposure to tax and treasury will be highly regarded.
Salary / Rate
* Salary in the range of $145k – $165k plus enhanced Superannuation
* Full-time, office-based role
