The opportunity
Our client, a well-established national manufacturing organisation, is seeking a
Dispatch Coordinator
to join their operations team based in
Cavan
. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting daily transport and despatch operations. Working closely with internal teams and transport providers, you'll play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused despatch outcomes.
Key responsibilities
* Coordinate daily despatch activities to meet delivery and service requirements
* Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
* Ensure fleet availability aligns with the daily delivery plan
* Liaise with sales, warehouse, and transport providers to manage urgent or critical requirements
* Manage driver movements and yard wait times to improve efficiency
* Conduct load checks and audits to ensure compliance with safety and load restraint standards
* Complete safety checklists and adhere to all health, safety, and legislative requirements
* Ensure all despatch documentation and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
About you
You are a proactive, organised, and customer-focused individual who thrives in an operationally driven environment. You're confident managing competing priorities and enjoy working autonomously while being part of a wider team.
You will also bring:
* Experience within despatch, transport, logistics, or yard operations
* Background as a Despatch Coordinator, Yard Coordinator, Leading Hand, or Supervisor
* Strong understanding of transport operations and load compliance
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Strong time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving abilities
