Position
About our Launceston team
Our Launceston team is a diverse and dynamic group of consultants with expertise across agriculture, water, land use planning, environmental assessment and resource recovery. Combining strong technical capability with practical, on-ground experience, the team works closely with farmers, industry, government and community stakeholders to deliver clear, evidence-based advice.
Examples of work the team undertakes includes:
* Water resource development, dam safety and water allocation assessments
* Recycled water and biosolids reuse scheme development
* Waste, organics and circular economy strategy development
* Land use planning, agricultural impact assessments, land capability assessment and bushfire planning
* Agricultural systems analysis, research and extension
* Natural values assessments, biodiversity and offset planning and weed management
* Stakeholder engagement, facilitation and workforce planning
What we are looking for
We are looking for a senior consultant with more than 5 years' experience to join RMCG's Launceston team. You will work in a stimulating environment to effect positive change in the businesses, industries, and communities that we service.
We see opportunities to strengthen our capacity in a range of areas including: water supply to agriculture and dam safety; resource recovery, recycled water and biosolids management; agricultural land use planning and land capability assessment; adapting to climate change; and rural and regional development.
The work that you will undertake could include:
* Applied technical analysis and modelling relevant to your area/s of expertise
* Planning, evaluating and implementing policy and programs in your area/s of expertise
* Stakeholder consultation and data gathering
* Writing clear, plain English reports that capture findings, insights and recommendations
* Client liaison and presenting findings to clients
* Project management
* Business development, including networking, marketing and proposal-writing
* Mentoring and guiding other members of the team

Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Tertiary qualification in agriculture, science, engineering, environmental management, or a related discipline.
Key Selection Criteria
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
We are seeking a candidate with 5-plus years of professional experience who can demonstrate:
* Technical Expertise: Leading technical knowledge in your area/s of expertise
* Business Development: Strong networks and capacity for business development
* Communication: Clearly present technical and analytical findings, both in writing and verbally
* Project management and collaboration: Lead and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Previous experience in consulting is highly desirable.

Salary
The remuneration package for the position will be negotiated with the preferred applicant and dependent on technical knowledge and experience. It is expected to be in the range of $100,000 – $150,000 (FTE).
