Opportunity
We are expanding our team and seeking a Senior Fund Accountant who is proactive, analytical, and motivated to help transform fund administration. This is a chance to join a growing business where you will be trusted as both a peer and an adviser to our clients.
You will assume responsibility for a portfolio of real and alternative asset funds, which may include:
* Private Equity
* Private Debt
* Private Credit
* Fund of Funds
* Agriculture
Funds may be open or closed ended and a combination of wholesale and retail managed investment trusts.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all aspects of fund administration are delivered accurately in a compliant and efficient manner.
* Ensure clients meet regulatory obligations in respect of fund administration and tax compliance.
* Prepare and or review all client deliverables to a high quality ensuring all procedures and processes are adhered to.
* Successfully onboard new Funds to required timeframes.
* Train and mentor junior team members.
* Assist with internal projects from time to time.
Core Deliverables
* NAV calculation and unit pricing (monthly, quarterly, semi annual, annual)
* Management Accounts Packs
* Statutory Financial Statements (half year and year end)
* Distribution calculations
* Management and performance fee calculations
* Lodgement of BAS returns
* Liaison with brokers, fund managers, and custodians
* System and process documentation
* Assisting with audit processes alongside external auditors and service providers
* Acting as the first point of contact for designated client relationships
Requirements
* 3–5 years of fund accounting experience (alternatives, hedge, private equity, or property fund administration experience advantageous but not essential)
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, fund administration and unit pricing
* Relevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study towards)
* Ability to deliver accurate and timely work under deadlines
* Take initiative in following up and problem solving in a timely manner
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Team player with the ability to work independently
* Respect for confidentiality
* Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills (essential)
* Experience managing client service relationships
* Exceptional attention to detail
