About this position
Join the City of Gosnells Engineering Services Branch and play a key role in delivering high-quality technical support across a range of civil projects. This role involves ground penetrating radar (GPR), spatial modelling, engineering surveying, pick-up and set-out work to support engineering design and construction with precision and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conduct ground penetrating radar to identify voids, unconsolidated ground, and underground services
* Perform 3D underground modelling and feature surveys to report on voids and service locations
* Undertake feature surveys using laser scanning to produce above-ground 3D models for engineering design
* Set out engineering works in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and standards
What we are looking for
* Sound knowledge of and experience in surveying, GPR, spatial analysis, contract, project and financial management and associated work practices.
* Demonstrated research abilities and innovative thinking to contribute and apply high level conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills
* Effective verbal and written communication skills to relay information, to influence others and to effectively resolve conflicts.
* Proven ability to prioritise, monitor and co-ordinate personal workload, with minimal supervision and within specified timeframes.
* Demonstrated ability in project management and a sound understanding of contemporary issues and trends as they relate to project management
Essential requirements
* Current driver's licence
* Associate Diploma in Engineering Surveying or equivalent
* Safety Awareness card (White Card)
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) and Traffic Control (TC) Accreditation
* Current National Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
