THE ROLE As a Senior Practice Adviser, you will contribute to the implementation of legislative requirements in the Disability Act 2006 and oversight of state-based restrictive practices. A key role is to influence practice development through provisions under the Act which aim to safeguard the rights of persons whose behaviours pose significant risk of harm to others. You will represent the Senior Practitioner at VCAT and provide oversight of those individuals who are at risk of being subject to compulsory treatment or have transitioned from supervised treatment orders but remain subject to restrictive practices under behaviour support plans. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE * Prepare and present, or contribute to, submissions to and represent the Senior Practitioner at VCAT, providing clinical advice on risk assessment, risk management and behaviour support issues to services supporting clients subject to compulsory treatment. * Review all treatment plans/behaviour support plans associated with clients subject to compulsory treatment in keeping with the requirements of the Disability Act 2006. * Provide oversight of the treatment plans for individuals subject to Custodial Supervision Orders under the Crimes Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried Act 1997 (CMIA) within the two Residential Treatment Facilities in Victoria.
