The Opportunity: The Regional Quality Engineer is responsible for providing engineering technical support of OEM products to ensure correct quality, compliance and performance of machines, delivering the smooth operation and providing technical support of the product range sold to support their region.
Key accountabilities will include:
2. Coordinate and address all escalated design technical issues from regions and liaise with the factory.
3. Support design in new model development.
4. Support Reliability Engineering in factory design issues in all aspects of machines functions, customer issues, reman faults, early life failures.
5. Measure and report allotted machines the current quality situation, covering both factory and Local quality
6. Provide practical and theoretical assistance to users of Komatsu machines by assisting staff, including: Engineering, Design National and Regional Tec Service, PDI and Reman.
7. Work within the Regions to develop and support Quality assurance in all areas of production and Administration (PDI, Reman, Service, Sales, OEM etc.)
8. Analyse machine reliability by application / working conditions / environment / duty cycle.
9. Measure machine type of failure / frequency of failure all aspects of OEM work and local issues.
10. Provide detailed statistical reports to clients for submission to Komatsu OEM factories / design departments.
11. Support or compile detailed reports covering mode, frequency of failure and FMEA.
12. Provide remote / onsite assistance various other departments support functions.
13. Develop project plans for improvement initiatives using 6 Sigma DMAIC process. Including the management and upkeep of project story boards.
14. Transfer knowledge through online collaboration and OEM and site visits.
15. Have key OEM, Design, and Quality contacts for quick resolution to problems and queries.
16. Evaluate historic trends and assist to find resolutions to client concerns on reliability.

What we are looking for:
24. Tertiary engineering qualifications, preferably to Bachelor of Engineering level, or in the process of obtaining similar.
25. Be highly competent in the analysis of machine performance data to prepare statistical analysis reports on faults / System related problems.
26. Knowledge of engineering Design processes
27. Knowledge of Komatsu IT systems, Microsoft products (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Design software (CAD, Solidworks, solid Edge, PTC Creo, Windchill, Hyperworks)
28. Good understanding of Quality Management and Continuous Improvement techniques.
29. A sound knowledge of commercial business practises.
30. In depth knowledge of reliability engineering principles.
31. Highly competent on the matter of safety in the work place.
32. Display a high level of self-motivation.
33. The ability to communicate with the Customer, Komatsu OEM and Site personnel.
