About the role
As Residential Support Worker you will be working with children and young people who have found themselves requiring residential care and support in the out-of-home care system. You will be supporting Community Service Organisations working towards positive outcomes for all. You will be required to contribute to the young person's independent living skills, comply with all administrative requirements and household duties.
* You must demonstrate positive role modelling and monitoring to enable children and young people to meet their goals and achieve their full potential
* Provide caring and nurturing support to children and young people who have experienced trauma
* Provide appropriate role modelling to children and young people to learn through required daily activities such as self-care, nutrition and independent living skills
* Implement developmental and behavioural management and safety plans as set by the young persons care team.
* Have the ability to clearly document relevant reports relating to the young person in the house.

Skills and Experience
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent. Equivalent approved courses include Cert IV or above in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Youth Justice. If you have partially completed your qualification, talk to us on how we can support you to undertake/complete the qualification with us whilst you are on the job.
* Mandatory Residential Care Units - If you have a Certificate IV or above in an equivalent specialty e.g. Youth Work, Disability, Community Services, Teaching, Nursing, etc., you will need to complete the Mandatory Top Up Units for Residential Care IF you have not done so already.
* Ability to self-regulate in challenging situations
* Understanding the importance of safety and compliance
* You are required to have or are willing to obtain:-
o Police Check - Valid within last 12 months
o Valid Working with Children Check (Employee status)
o Valid and current NDIS Screening clearance
o Current First Aid and CPR
o Valid and Current Victorian Drivers Licence
o Right to work or equivalent
