About the Opportunity As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process—from raw material procurement to final packaging. Your leadership will directly influence the delivery of safe, consistent, and compliant products to market. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment and is passionate about innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in pharmaceutical production. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across multiple production lines at the GMP-certified facility, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met Manage the entire production lifecycle, including raw materials, scheduling, resourcing, packaging, and dispatch Lead and coach a multidisciplinary team to uphold best practices in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and TGA compliance Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance to support new product development, tech transfer, and commercialisation Design and implement scalable manufacturing processes for new product lines, including MDMA, Psilocybin, and Cannabis-based medicines Conduct internal audits and support external inspections by TGA and other regulatory bodies Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for production staff to build GMP awareness and procedural compliance Maintain strict documentation and reporting in line with TGA, FDA, and international standards Continuously monitor and improve quality assurance measures across production and identify root causes of any deviation Contribute to strategic planning, capacity expansion, and future-state operational roadmaps Key Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline (Master’s degree highly regarded) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment, preferably within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or cannabis Demonstrated experience managing production teams and implementing process improvements within a compliant facility In-depth knowledge of Australian TGA regulations, GMP protocols, and international quality frameworks (ICH, USP, EP) Proven ability to lead through change, communicate cross-functionally, and drive results in a high-growth or scale-up setting Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work across complex systems and data sets Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to influence stakeholders at all levels Self-motivated, quality-driven, and solutions-focused, with a passion for operational excellence and innovation Who You’ll Be Working With You will report directly to the Head of Quality and work closely with: Senior Management In-house consultants and subject matter experts Contract manufacturers and external regulatory bodies You’ll also play a critical role in fostering a positive team culture within the production department and broader business.
