Commercial Manager
The role of the Commercial Manager is to oversee the commercial functions of the building division. This includes supervising estimators and contract administrators, preparing tenders and proposals, and tracking progress claims.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising the estimating and claims functions of the building division.
* Preparing or supervising the preparation of tenders, EOIs, D&C, and ECI proposals.
* Tracking the status of progress claims and ensuring timely submission.
* Assisting with the preparation of Variation Order proposals, Latent Conditions claims, and EOT and prolongation claims.
* Preparing estimates to support HNGI's entitlement to damages under law or contract.
In relation to overseeing the purchasing functions, the Commercial Manager will work closely with site-based Project Managers to ensure effective purchasing processes are in place.
Skills and experience required:
* Proven experience in a commercial manager role within the construction industry.
* Proficient with MS Word, Excel, CostX/Timberline or other estimating software.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods.
* Ability to forecast productivity and costs accurately.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
* Ability to lead by example and effectively supervise and mentor subordinates.
