The Role
We seek an ambitious Business Development Manager to join our dynamic Sales and Engineering Team. Your primary focus will be on nurturing and expanding commercial relationships with major corporations, identifying new business opportunities, and strengthening our customer network nationwide.
This role offers extensive national exposure through participation in industry events and strategic networking opportunities. Regular domestic travel and occasional international travel are required to maintain strong ties with customers and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and develop new business prospects in key sectors, including mining and quarrying.
2. Foster and sustain professional relationships with procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams.
3. Lead consultative sales efforts, prepare quotations, and contribute to tender submissions.
4. Actively engage in industry events and networking activities.
5. Collaborate with internal teams to provide tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
6. Regular travel involved to cultivate and maintain key client relationships.
Requirements:
Technical Capabilities & Experience:
1. A minimum of 12 months of experience in engineering solutions-based business development, backed by a proven sales record.
2. Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant commercial experience within the engineering sector.
3. Excellent communication skills – written, spoken, and presentation.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
5. Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet business development deadlines.
6. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
7. Experience with SAP Business One or similar ERP management information systems is advantageous.
8. Existing contacts within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sectors.
9. Must hold full Australian work rights and a valid passport.
10. This position is subject to a mandatory police check.
