Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Air Quality Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our Air Quality Control Centre. As a key member of our Health, Safety, Environment & Community Department, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of air quality controllers to achieve compliance with environmental regulations and minimize operational impacts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and lead a team of air quality controllers to manage air quality risks and deliver on commitments.
* Provide a high level of support and collaboration with operational partners to facilitate effective environmental and compliance management.
* Manage the AQC centre to achieve compliance with the Environmental Authority and minimize operational impacts through applying meteorological knowledge and control strategies for operational emissions.
* Develop, review and deliver technical air quality reports to regulators.
* Assess skills gaps and facilitate training programs to upskill the Air Quality Controllers, ensuring they remain proficient in monitoring techniques, incident investigation, and system operations.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant science (meteorology, environmental science/engineering, or process engineering/metallurgy).
* Relevant smelting/processing or mining operational experience (preferably more than 3 years).
* Supervisory/leadership experience is desired.
* Relevant technical report writing experience.
* Demonstrate experience in meteorological assessment.
* High level understanding of relevant legislation, compliance, codes and standards.
* Systems experience, be goal-orientated and highly organized, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with operations personnel.
* Experience in management of complex technical situations.
