The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic leader to direct our Collections and Account Management Branch within Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS).

As Manager Collections and Account Management, you are responsible for the day-to-day operations and performance of the Collections and Account Management team, overseeing all revenue collection and financial management activities in line with contemporary financial management principles and Australian Accounting Standards. You will lead the reporting processes, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information while maintaining robust financial controls.

This role has accountability for maintaining correct accounting records and compliance with the Financial Management Act, Treasurer's Instructions, and other statutory requirements. You will provide leadership across the branch to support effective service delivery, sound financial governance, and continuous improvement in revenue collection and account management practices.

DVS interacts with millions of Western Australians each year, managing licensing for over 2 million drivers, 3 million vehicles, and approximately 9 million financial transactions annually. As part of the leadership team, you will influence decision-making at the highest levels and foster a culture of innovation, efficiency, and best practice.

There is one (1) permanent position available for immediate filling.
The successful applicant or applicants assessed as suitable through this process may receive further offers of employment (fixed term or permanent) in this or similar roles for a period of twelve (12) months from date of first appointment.
About you
Shape and drive strategic and tactical business plans for Collections and Account Management.
Exemplify personal integrity and self-awareness.
Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
Achieve results through the development of performance indicators and assessment methodologies.
Communicate and influence at a senior level, including with industry and government bodies.
Demonstrate significant experience in financial management and accounting, with proven experience in revenue collection in a complex organisation.
Lead and motivate a large team, promoting a work environment that develops and utilises diverse talents.
(Desirable) Hold a degree in accounting or related field and possess a strong understanding of the Financial Management Act (2006), Treasurer's Instructions, and Australian Accounting Standards.

Essential criteria
(SC1) Significant experience in financial management and accounting with proven experience in revenue collection in a complex organisation.
(SC2) Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to develop and implement alternative cost effective solutions to complex problems.
(SC5) Significant experience managing and leading a large team in a complex environment, including the ability to promote a work environment that motivates, develops and utilises the diverse talents of people.
