About your new team
Reporting to the CFO and Senior Accountant, you'll join a team that's grounded, sharp and genuinely supportive. They're big on communication, clarity and ownership - no egos, no silos, just good people solving meaningful problems.
With an ERP upgrade underway, the finance function is evolving: more automation, smarter reporting, cleaner processes and greater tax involvement. It's genuinely the perfect time to join.
Your Responsibilities
This is a broad, high‑impact Tax & Financial Accountant role across AU and NZ compliance, governance and accounting support. You will:
* Prepare and coordinate AUS & NZ corporate income tax returns (with external tax advisors)
* Review monthly BAS/IAS
* Manage GST return preparation and lodgement
* Prepare annual FBT returns across multiple entities
* Prepare tax effect accounting for AU/NZ
* Maintain tax fixed asset registers
* Calculate contractor payroll tax
* Prepare the Taxable Payments Annual Report
* Support ongoing tax governance and compliance
* Prepare journals for all tax‑related processes
Beyond compliance, you'll also be hands‑on with:
* Tax input for tenders, business structures and commercial projects
* Reviewing new payroll codes
* Tax review for acquisitions and divestments
* Supporting the D365 ERP implementation from a tax perspective
* Month‑end: workpapers, journals, reconciliations
* Audit support, reporting and ad‑hoc analysis
This isn't a back‑office tax role. You'll be involved, visible and connected to the commercial heartbeat of the business.
Your Experience
This role is ideal for your first move into industry if you're currently in:
* Big 4 or large mid‑tier Corporate Tax
* Business Services with strong tax exposure
* A Financial Accounting role with a tax focus
You'll thrive if you bring:
* CA/CPA qualified (or close to completion)
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Curiosity, ownership and initiative
* The ability to navigate detail while seeing the bigger picture
* A collaborative style suited to a large operational business
