Join us as a Financial Accountant and play a key role in shaping and scaling Airtasker's Reporting & Compliance function. You'll help strengthen financial controls, improve systems and processes, and build the foundations needed to support our global expansion - all while delivering high-quality, timely, and meaningful financial insights.

What You'll Do

* Take ownership of the month-end close, delivering accurate and timely journals, reconciliations, and financial analysis
* Lead key accounting areas including revenue recognition, fixed assets, leases, and provisions
* Build and refine processes and policies to reflect best practice as the business scales
* Partner with stakeholders to deliver insightful Board reporting, including clear variance analysis and commentary
* Play a key role in statutory reporting, ASX requirements, and external audit processes
* Manage tax compliance activities, including BAS lodgements
* Continuously look for ways to streamline month-end and improve day-to-day finance operations
* Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives that elevate the quality and speed of financial reporting

We'd love to hear from you if you tick some of these boxes:

* CA or CPA qualified (or working towards it)
* Experience in Big 4/mid-tier or a fast-growing business, with listed exposure a bonus
* Strong grounding in technical accounting and applying AASB/IFRS in practice
* Proven experience supporting month-end (journals, reconciliations, etc.)
* Strong Excel skills, with exposure to NetSuite or similar systems a plus
* A team player who takes ownership and delivers outcomes
* Naturally curious, with the ability to solve problems and navigate ambiguity
* Confident working cross-functionally and building strong relationships
* Quick to pick up new systems, tools, and concepts
* Proactive in challenging the status quo and identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working
