About Us
Access Home Lifts Cairns is a growing lift installation and service company specialising in residential and small commercial lifts across Queensland. Due to strong growth and an increasing number of projects, we are looking for a Trades Assistant to join our team and support our Lift Technician with installations and servicing.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, travel, and learning a specialised trade.
The Role
You will work directly alongside our technician assisting with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of home lifts, small commercial lifts, stairlifts, and vertical platform lifts.
While the role is based in Cairns, the position involves travel to project sites across Queensland, from Bundaberg through to Thursday Island.
All travel expenses are covered.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with installation of home lifts, platform lifts, stairlifts, and small commercial lifts
* Support servicing and maintenance work
* Carry and organise tools and materials on site
* Assist with mechanical and installation tasks
* Maintain a safe and organised work environment
* Help prepare equipment and materials for jobs
* Travel to regional and remote locations as required
Travel
This role includes regular travel throughout Queensland.
Candidates must be available for overnight travel away from Cairns as needed based on project requirements.
The company covers:

* Meals where required
You will have the opportunity to work in a variety of locations across North Queensland and remote regions.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Hardworking and reliable
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
* Willing to learn new skills
* Able to follow instructions and work in a team
* Comfortable travelling for work
* Must have valid Australian work rights
Preferred but not essential:
* Construction or mechanical experience
* Basic knowledge of tools
* White Card
* Driver's licence
