The Islington Hotel, freshly awarded a prestigious Michelin Key, offers an exceptional opportunity for a hospitality professional to lead a renowned, intimate 11-room hotel celebrated for personalised service, elegance, and attention to detail.

This live-on role includes complimentary accommodation, allowing the successful candidate to fully immerse themselves in the guest experience and the rhythm of this remarkable property.

We are seeking a hands-on, guest-focused leader who thrives in a luxury, detail-driven environment and can continue the outstanding standards our guests expect. This position is ideal for an aspiring first-time Hotel Manager with experience in Front Office and Food & Beverage.

About the Role


As Hotel Manager, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day operations, creating an environment where every guest feels recognised, cared for, and inspired. You will lead by example, balancing operational excellence with warmth and authenticity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership & Guest Experience

* Lead by example as the face of the hotel, greeting guests and ensuring their stay exceeds expectations.

* Foster a service culture defined by genuine care, discretion, and attention to detail.
* Manage guest feedback, reviews, and service recovery with professionalism and empathy.

* Operational Oversight

* Oversee daily operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage.

* Coordinate room assignments, housekeeping standards, and maintenance priorities to ensure seamless operations.
* Monitor presentation standards across all guest areas, gardens, and back-of-house facilities.

* Food & Beverage Supervision

* Support breakfast and evening service operations, ensuring a refined and personalised dining experience.

* Collaborate with local suppliers and chefs to maintain a high-quality, locally inspired offering.
* Oversee wine and beverage service, ensuring selections reflect the sophistication of the property.

* Financial & Administrative Management

* Manage daily revenue reconciliation, budgets, and cost control to ensure profitability.

* Oversee purchasing, stock management, and supplier relationships.
* Prepare monthly operational reports.

* People & Culture

* Recruit, train, and motivate a small, multi-skilled team committed to excellence.

* Lead by example in upholding workplace culture, teamwork, and communication.
* Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and development discussions.

* Property & Brand Standards

* Uphold the hotel's heritage, design aesthetic, and brand values in every detail.

* Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene, and legislative requirements.
* Liaise with external partners, owners, and corporate support teams to ensure alignment with brand direction.

About You


You will bring:

* Previous experience as a Front Office Manager, Duty Manager, or Operations Manager within a luxury or boutique hotel.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, polished presence.
* Proven ability to multitask and lead within a small, close-knit team environment.
* A passion for craftsmanship in hospitality, from plating breakfast to greeting guests by name.
* Strong organisational and financial acumen with attention to detail.
